North Dean Memorial Hall (NDMH) - Privacy Statement (Issued 26.05.18)

New Data Protection legislation came into effect on 25th May 2018. This requires that NDMH communicates with you about the data it holds about you, why it needs your data, what it will do with your data, how long it keeps your data, and your rights.

NDMH is what’s known as the ‘Controller’ of any personal data you provide to it. NDMH collects, holds and uses certain data required in order to carry out functions such as processing of donations, and/or general communications with you. 

 

Why NDMH needs personal data

NDMH holds two types of personal data:

1.     Individuals’ names and home addresses, phone numbers and email addresses. NDMH has a lawful basis for processing this data on the basis of consent, which enables it to communicate with about general village news and forthcoming events etc.

2.     Bank account details of those individuals who make regular donations by standing order. NDMH has a lawful basis for processing this data on the basis of consent in order to action the requested standing orders.

NDMH will not collect any personal data from you it does not need in order to carry out the above.

NDMH does not collect any personal data relating to children.

What NDMH will do with personal data

All the personal data NDMH processes (in scenarios 1 and 2 above) is processed by our Committee members, Trustees (more specifically the Treasurer in the case of bank account details), or website administrator (on rare mutually-agreed occasions).

NDMH has a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of personal data.

How long NDMH keeps personal data

NDMH will keep personal data as long as you are a resident of North Dean, and consent to your data being kept.

What are your rights?

If at any point you believe the information NDMH processes on you is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted.
